Riverboat Days 2002: Afternoon for Kids at Terraceview Lodge

An Afternoon for Kids at Terraceview Lodge is always a memorable event for both the kids and the residents. There's lots to see, lots to do, and a lot of happy voices filling the air.

As always, City Freeman Vesta Douglas was at the door to greet young and old on their way in. Joining Vesta this year was Riverboat Days 2002 Queen Fran Lindstrom.

Inside, there was a gold digging pool. No one struck it rich, but that didn't matter. There was face painting with several skilled artists. There was a young fiddle player providing the music, and a western theme board where you could peek through a hole so mom or dad could snap a photo.

And then there were animals . . . Of sorts. Snakes. Lots of Snakes. Big snakes. Little snakes. All colours of snakes. Some kids dared to touch them, many did not.

Outdoors on the lawn there were ponies. The lineup was testimony to the popularity of the event. Everyone wanted a ride. And all the kids got one.

Also outdoors, of course, there was good food. You can't have fun without good food.
