There was a lot of crashing action at the Speedway on the
final day of the 35th Reunion/Memorial Race Weekend.

During the B Hobby Main four out of five cars were caught in a tussle coming out of corner four. The driver of Car 10 thought he was out of harms way when he was hit from behind, which caused him to run into another car, causing serious damage to the front end and rear axels of Car 10. However both drivers of Car 10 assured us they will be ready in two weeks for the Riverboat Days Races.

Car 55 and Car 96 also received damages, and the Bomber Class cars were not without their bumps and bangs, as well as many blown tires.

Two track records were set this weekend. Gary MacCarthy in Hobby Stock Car 92 set a track record of 17.94, beating his old record of 18.04 set on May 12. Kevin Pongracz in Bomber Class Car 117 set a track record of 21.05 on Saturday night and then again on Sunday with a tme of 20.98, beating his old record of 21.06 that he set during the 2000 season.

The Memorial Race was won by Gary MacCarthy in Hobby Stock Car 92.

The old timers borrowed cars from our regular drivers to put on an exhibition race for the spectators. Sharon Fagan placed first in her Hobby Stock Car 48, and Sonny Bienvenu placed first in Bomber Class Car 329.
