Dear Lord, thank you for gathering us here safely. We take this time to remember, and to lift up to you all our brothers and sisters who are suffering and grieving from last Tuesday's terror. We trust in your love and strength.
We are also gathered to ask that you help us be people of peace, and not war. People of forgiveness, and not hate.
May we be a sign of that peace today — Amen

Oh God of love, Oh King of peace,
Led Christ throughout the world to see our violent ways, and help us contain the peace.
Oh God, the peace of day,
Where saints and angels dwell above and are joined in Holy love,
Oh bind us in that Heavenly chain.
Give peace, Oh God. Give peace this day.
May the grace from the peace of God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ be with all those who have left us. For all us that are left to mourn you. Rest in peace.

These are Jesus' own words.
Peace I leave with you.
The peace I give to you, I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled,
And do not let them be afraid.
The word of the Lord.

One minute of silence to remember;
to say a prayer silently that Jesus be with us.
|
|
|
|
Take a moment to hear what God has to say . . .
Be attentive to what God's words have to tell us.
|
|
|
|
Dear Lord, thank you for being with us and helping us become people of your peace.
Please continue to be with all those who are hurting and suffering.
May we always be a source of Your hope. Your healing. and Your love, in this broken world.
We make this prayer in Jesus name Amen

We've put our pictures with them, and with Christsymbolized in the cross—to remember them, to pray for them, to wish them well.

Do not let your hearts be troubled,
Do not be afraid,
Jesus promises us peace.
