JOINT VENTURES — The Gitwangak Band is seeking investors to enter into joint venture relationships. Most of the projects described above will have its own corporate structure. A land management company iwll administer the leases associated with each corporation.
POTENTIAL TO COMPLEMENT PROPOSED PROJECTS — The fish hatchery project would complement efforts for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon stocks enhancement in the areas where habitat restoration has taken place. An old coho stream exists on Lot 228 which dried up when the Ministry of Highways redirected the stream, some thought has been given to restoring this stream.
A mini-hydro power facility is being considered that will produce electricity at a lower cost than BC Hydro rates. Should cheaper power be feasible, it will then make all of the other projects on Lot 228 that much more feasible. Some preliminary discussions have been conducted with BC Hydro regarding their involvement as a joint venture or purchaser.
A conceptual site development plan was prepared identifying various planned business enterprises. the lot sizes and location may vary depending on investors' preferences and feasibility stuldies. Following is a brief description of the contemplated projects.
